BAU’s key themes — Leading themes for the entire industry
|
The key themes at BAU – chosen new for each event – are
critical for the future of building. These themes help us to structure
the fair and the supporting programme. The special shows and forums
always address the key themes, as do the exhibitors at their stands.
This means it is easier for you as a trade visitors to gain an
overview. Here you find an outline what those key themes are for
BAU 2011.

Sustainability |

As a concept, sustainability originated in the forestry industry, but
with climate change and concerns about energy, it has become a focus of
wider debate. In building and construction, too, sustainability is a
priority theme. And in all corners of the trade fair, at the stands of
exhibitors, visitors will be able to find products and materials that
meet the criteria of sustainability. Sustainable design and
construction is also the main topic in the events in the supporting
programme.

Building for Life |

Designing and fitting out living space in such a way that everyone can
not only use it, but feel comfortable and safe within it, whether
young, old, tall or small, with or without handicap – that is the
idea behind the concept of building for life. BAU is taking up this
theme in several events.

Research + Innovation |

'The Future of Building' is the slogan of BAU. Just what this future
looks like will be on show at the exhibitors´ stands. R&D is
playing a big part elsewhere at the fair, too, in the forums and
special shows.

Education, Training |
Top |
Finding well qualified and highly motivated employees is not easy, in
particular for the building and construction industry. BAU is doing its
bit now to change this – to enthuse young people to work in the
building industry and promote real jobs in the sector. A number of
initiatives and events are being held on this subject, which will be
presented individually.
